Spring is in the Air.

Unfortunetly I was working when this photo was taken. It was the 1st beautiful Saturday here in Denmark and man would you know it. The whole city was out and about dining and having beers at little cafes that were now spilling onto the street. This photo was taken just downstairs from my office.

Sticks ‘n’ Sushi Copenhagen

I woke up Sunday morning and was craving some good Danish eats. I decided to go on a lenghy walk over to the area called Vesterbro. This part of town reminds me a lot of the Lower East Side of Manhattan or Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Lots of little bars all around with cheap prices and a divey type feel. Also there are tons of little cafes and what not.

On my walk I stumbled upon one of the two Sticks and Sushi resteraunts here in Denmark. I had tried to go to the other one on a Friday night with a co-worker but it was PACKED… I was relieved to see that there was only one couple in the resteraunt on this particular Sunday morning.

I was seated quickly and ordered a glass of cold saki and an Yibisu beer. The menu looked great, they had sushi, shashimi, a variety of rolls and skewers. I decided to order a set meal that was a sampler of their variety…. lots of food!

It was really good and I particularly enjoyed the Chicken Meatball skewers, full of flavor and had a great sauce to accompany it. It was a little on the pricey side at 350 kroners (about 60 USD). I thought it was well worth it, another delectable Danish meal!

First Animation

So I got approval to show off the first little animation I completed while here in Denmark. There was 7 of these idents, and I came in on the tail end and helped finish one up. All the idents were shot in Denmark by Emil here at Frame.dk.

I did the Logo animation and the light streaks, as welll as the final composite.

Logo Animation was done in Cinema4d, and all compositing and light streaks were done in After Effects.

The animation is for a new television chanel here in Denmark and I have already seen my animation on the tv here…pretty crazy how fast they can get these things up!

The First is an Ident and the second is a larger version of the Logo Animation.

Enjoy!
