Check out the new diggs!

So I hacked together a QuickTime VR of my new apartment. Be easy on the execution it was my first time and I made it at roughly 4:00am my first night here because of jet lag.

Once QuickTime VR is loaded, just click and drag to take a little tour around my new place!

In CPH, they ride gold fixed gear bikes.

Was walking down the street yesterday and noticed this beauty from the window. Apparently the economic crisis hasn’t hit Copenhagen yet, since they plate their bikes in gold.

First European Animation

I have been here for about 5 days and the first animation is out the door! I animated the 3D logo in C4D and did the animated light streaks and additional animation in After Effects. I think the spots air very soon so I should be able to post the animation, but until that is cleared stills are all I got.

Smørrebrød!

So far since I have been in Denmark I have tried Thai food (The Rice Market) and had a Crepe. Until yesterday, while we were working away we decided it would be a good time to try out some real traditional Danish food. Right down the street there was a place that servered Smørrebrød. I had the Roast Beef Smørrebrød accompanied by a Carlsburg. Smørrebrød is an open faced sandwhich. My meal was a piece of toast with Roast Beef, Rumalaude (a yellow relish), chives and little crunchy goodness things. It was awesome.

Bike Crazyland

There are about 1 trillion bikes in Copenhagen, they are everywhere. While I was working this weekend Emil (my fellow motion graphics artist) took me around town to buy a bike. We had no success but I had a great sandwhich at The Laundromat and got to check out some prices on bikes. A new bike is around 2,000 Danish Kroners ($340) and a used bike is about half that price. I am working on hopefully finding a single speed or fixed gear for realitively cheap…if not i can get a basic city cruising bike.

BIKES!

Frame.dk

I have been working a couple days now, and the studio is great. People are nice great food around the corner! So far the hours have been a bit rough, worked through the weekend too. That being said, I am pretty sure it is going to slow down, I am starting a project today that should go for a 10 days and be a bit mellower. But the studio is great, there are only 5 of us here so it is pretty relaxed environment. Here are a couple of pictures of studio I will be working in for the next couple weeks! It is located about 10 walking from my apartment… so that is awesome.

Here is where it is located exactly

One Heck of a Travelling Day

travellingSo I made it to Denmark! Only after a 9 hour flight to London, a 2 hour layover and another 2 hour flight to my final destination, Copenhagen, Denmark. I cannot complain, the flight was great and everything went smooth. The Executive producer over at Frame.dk met me at the airport and drove me over to my new residence which is in the freakin middle of the city. It’s a nice place and I am currently working on getting together a QuickTimeVR so you can see it in more detail.
